What's Up Wednesday

What's Up Wednesday

Today I’m linking up with one of my favorite bloggers: Mixandmatchmama!
She does this every once in awhile and it’s super fun to read so I am linking up too.

What we’re eating...

Well we have been super blessed to be scheduled with 3 (and MAYBE 4) Snow Days this week due to extremely freezing temps in Chicagoland. Never thought I could be excited about "feels like -45," but here I am.
Unfortunately, I did not shop for such an event. Luckily my mom is going to stop by later to watch the kiddies so I can run out to get stuff for...
Slow Cooker Chicken and Mushroom Stroganoff takes just minutes to throw in the slow cooker! It is so creamy and delicious and will become an instant family favorite!

This just looks nice and cozy.

What I’m reminiscing about...

Last year at this time.. I had just found out I was pregnant-AGAIN. It was a tough pill to swallow at the time (I had a 7 month old!!) But, of course, now we couldn't imagine life without our Little Lennon Luce!
She is getting so big, so fast! We just started little bits of baby food and so far carrots are winning!Image may contain: 1 person

What I’m loving...

These snow days with my littles. We are just doing alot of movie watching and playing but it is just always so good to NOT rush out in the morning. 💕Image may contain: 1 person, standing and sitting

What we’ve been up to...

Lennon and Alden just got over ear infections and RSV. It has been a low key past couple of weeks...
February is usually our MOST chill month with nothing going on. However, this February is so super packed! Maybe we can get through it quick and move on to March and Springtime!

What I’m dreading...

These temps tomorrow.. 🙈

What I’m working on...

I just organized our craft area...

Now that it's nice and clean, I am ready to do all of the crafts and projects!!

What I’m excited about...

Can I say springtime? I know we have a LONG way to go... but my "Fresh Cut Lilacs" candle just came in the other day and just one quick whiff gave me that spring fever.

What I’m watching/reading...

We just finished this...

And are now on to..
Image result for ted bundy tapes netflix

I guess you could say we have a type.

I LOVED You. We binged it in just a few sittings. The Ted Bundy Tapes is good too... if you're into that kinda thing. Last night I legit didn't want to go to bed alone.

What I’m listening to...

Currently, Doc McStuffins as my littles are starting to wake up. #sendhelp
But we also got an Echo Dot for Christmas and have been listening to any and everything on Amazon music.
Alden is bound and determined to get Alexa to recognize his voice. No luck so far. (she doesn't recognize "Ah-yex-ah!")

What I’m wearing...

I am obsessed with Zulily lately!
I've been buying super simple dresses in every color and style. They are SO CHEAP! Under $20..and usually under $15. So easy to pair with leggings or a scarf.

What I’m doing this weekend...

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling

Disney on Ice!! We are going on Sunday and this year, Alden gets to come too. We are so so excited! Last year was awesome.

What I’m looking forward to next month...

Valentine's Day! I got ALL of the kids Valentine's done yesterday.
Since when are we required to make treat bags for kids rather than just your regular cards?!
Evie picked out Fancy Nancy cards plus one snack and one little trinket for her baggies at Pre-K. Alden and Lennon picked Paw Patrol and decided to go in on their treat baggies together this year.😂

What else is new...

Not much!

BONUS QUESTION:
What’s your favorite family Valentine’s Day tradition?

This is easy!!

*ahem* do you spy that BABY Eversyn? 😭
This pic was two years ago.
These cinnamon rolls are AMAZING. I really don't know why I only make them for V-Day...

Happy Wednesday!
Stay warm!

The Past 2 Months

Happy New Year! It was a busy holiday season for us, resulting in more family time and not a lot of blog action. Having 3, 4 and under is no joke most of the time... so when I find myself in bed with a mimosa, the two littles asleep and the big at the movies with her grandma... it just feels like the time to update! 🤪

Kicked off the day after Halloween with Christmas jams!! I am definitely one to celebrate one holiday at a time... but it had just dropped in temps and gave us a little snow... so I HAD to bust out the holiday jammies!

Called my mom over in early November to take some Christmas pictures for our holiday card. I'm obsessed with buffalo check and was pumped to get all the kids super cute outfits from Old Navy!
I have an online shopping problem with Old Navy. It is real.

Lennon's Bow

The two littles wearing Eversyn's old Thanksgiving outfits. Alden remains pumped about life in general. Lennon was also 3 months old this day!

We host Thanksgiving each year. Sometimes we have a big gathering, sometimes it's smaller. This year it was on the smaller side. This is probably my 4th year making the turkey and it is still intimidating! It's a BIG job and if something goes wrong with the THANKSGIVING TURKEY?! No pressure!😰
I always follow my culinary God's advice (Ina Garten) and use this recipe:
Perfect Roast Turkey
It never fails and feels TOO easy. Also, no jarred gravy here. You have to make the real deal. It's worth it!

Day after Thanksgiving. Ah, a tree with a toddler. How often can a person say, "No touch!" and "Look with your eyes, not your hands!"🤦🏻‍♀️
Alden got used to having Christmas trees in the house...and the bottom halves of our trees became more and more bare as the season went on.
#maybenextyear #jktherellbeanothertoddlernextyear🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Alden's Outfit here!

Living in NWI, A Christmas Story is kind of a big deal. It takes place in "Hohman, Indiana" which is a fictional version of real life Hammond..which is in the region where I grew up.

We go and see Santa at the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond.. and it is decked out in Christmas Story cheer! The Santa Mountain is a replica from the movie and they have animatronic scenes from the movie set up throughout the Welcome Center. It is SO fun! This is our go-to Santa spot.

Alden honestly did better than we thought he would. There were tears, but he was a trooper. Eversyn was more into it than she appears. Being 4, she can also be hit or miss... DON'T EVEN suggest she go see the Easter Bunny. That is a hands off topic!
Though she was a little shy, she made sure Santa heard, loud and clear, that she wanted the Barbie Dream House this year. #lordhelpme

So fun! And second appearance of those buffalo check outfits!

My littles ready to go watch their big sister in her Christmas program!
Lennon's onesie was Evie's... I couldn't find it last year for Alden (found it RIGHT after Christmas, of course!) But it is here

My little #bossbabe. This girl is gonna move mountains.

December calls for ALL of the cookie making! I love this recipe so much! It makes a ton of cookies, pretty quickly. They stay soft, too! I'm thinking of making Valentine's cookies just to have them again.

And just like that, Lennon turns 4 months old. Time is FLYING with this girl!

Excuse the Instagram Story picture... but Christmas Eve Eve we made some festive pancakes, thanks to the inspiration of one of my favorite bloggers of all time, Jessica Garvin. She is the queen of all things holiday!

Christmas Eve, we said "SEE YA" to our elf, Lulu. I am not a big, over the top, elf person. My kids like to find the elf in the morning. Ours isn't too mischievous and we are all okay with that.💁🏻‍♀️

Christmas morning ♥️

Both girls' dresses are from a local thrift store!♥️♥️♥️

It was a long few days...

My favorite gift <3 Stacking rings from my love!

A girl and her dog.🐶👧🏼

Leni got this hat from my mom.. and I LOVE it! I promptly had her order 2 more for the other 2 kids. Give me all of the monogrammed things!
I don't have a link, since it was a gift, but I know she found them on Groupon.

Living where we do, we are super close to Chicago. One day after Christmas we took Alden and Evie on the train to the city. We saw the giant tree at Macy's Walnut Room...

Stopped at Dylan's Candy Bar... (and I think we have arrived at the awkward "Smile!" phase of life with Evie)🤣

Then lunch at Rainforest Cafe. Where Alden was straight up terrified.😳

As I made my January calendar, I wrote, "Lennon: 5 Months" on the 22nd... HOW is this girl almost a half year old?!?! 😭😭😭

And then we rang in 2019 with some festive donuts!!
Happy New Year to you and yours! I hope it's your best yet!

Halloween!

We had such an awesome Halloween! In Northwest Indiana, Halloween can really be a toss up. There are a lot of years we have had snow, rain and super cold temps. NOT THIS YEAR! It was a perfect Halloween night.

My little Moana!

And my little bat. This costume was $15 at Target! It was so cute and so warm for Alden.

All my people 💕... Lennon wore Eversyn’s Cinderella costume for approximately 5 minutes for this picture.

Also, Dan was just to their left... we were both freaked that Evie was gonna drop Leni 😅😬

Eversyn through the years!! The past 3 years she has picked her own costume. We always tell her she doesn’t HAVE to be a Disney Princess...but she has a definite theme going.

I love our neighborhood. Everyone goes all out for Halloween. Lots of decor, music, fog machines...everyone sits outside with bon fires and passes out candy. It’s SO festive! 👻🍂

He was lovin’ it!

40 minutes in, Eversyn declared she was done.

Trick or Treating next door. Next door neighbors always have the best candy😉

This year and last year, Evie has really gotten a kick out of passing out candy too, which I think is awesome!

And nowwwwww....

Let the holidays begin!! I am NOT one to skip Thanksgiving, but I am also ready for some holiday cheer!

Happy November!🦃
